about

"The Life and Untimely Death of Tonto Flores" was basically a "greatest hits" compilation, covering three years worth of bandliness. This period of time was very productive from a musical production standpoint, and of course there were some hidden gems among the remains. For anyone who listened to the compilation and wished there was more available on the internets, well... now there is.

Listening to these songs again for the first time in awhile makes me realize we really had something special. Even the songs that were NOT the big hits were great songs! I hear a lot of creativity and ambitious songwriting.

The first four are from the Tonto debut album (2006) and the next four are from "The Bug is Dead" (2009). The last song is an 8th century Irish hymn that I first covered in 2004. This one is more of an acoustic version of my rearrangement, which we used on the DVD "Dos Burritos" (2008).
